The Claims Technical Consultant performs technical consulting activities for Security First Managers (Company). Work involves providing expert guidance to claims leadership in the strategic and technical management of claims and litigation activities. Develops standardized policies and procedures, oversees complex claims operations, conducts third-party fraud/special investigations, offers direct support on high-exposure claims, provides subject matter expertise and serves as the main point of contact for Claims Department projects involving new software, system integrations, and technology enhancements, and provides guidance on various claim-related decisions and initiatives. **Hybrid schedule with at least three onsite days/week**
Essential Functions:
Maintains subject matter expertise in coverage lines and court decisions, addressing their impact on claim handling procedures
Provides technical support and expertise to leadership, staff, data analytics, and other company areas as needed
Serves as a subject matter expert and business owner on projects, systems and technology
Collaborates with claims leadership to ensure adherence to procedures and guidelines, and drives technical quality
Coordinates claims meetings and conducts complex claim analysis for performance monitoring and risk assessment
Manages Quality Assurance processes and identifies training opportunities
Tracks and coordinates Examinations Under Oath (EUO) and conducts internal audit reviews of complex claims and litigation files
Identifies and manages risks associated with business activities and follows risk and compliance policies
May oversee anti-fraud investigations with vendors as required
Analyzes complex situations and formulates effective solutions
Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, assists with attorney assignments, and conducts legal research
Evaluates and recommends claims handling changes based on legal developments
Coordinates Department of Financial Services Complaint responses and approves various claim-related letters
Reviews and analyzes files to ensure adherence to standards, interprets policies, and identifies training needs
Develops training curricula, maintains relationships with business partners, and contributes to new product development
Designs Reservation of Rights templates for use by technical associates
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Seven (7) or more years of diverse claims experience including strategic and technical management of claims and litigation
OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree
Industry recognized designations such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Claims (AIC)
6-20 All Lines Adjuster License
